Better than "regular" iron, not as good as other gravity irons, January 31, 2009 Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Yamata GSI8800 heavy duty commercial iron (Kitchen) I'm picky about how an iron/steam generator/gravity iron works & this one doesn't work very good. This gravity iron produces half the steam that my Pacific did. I've used it for a few days, so I'm hoping there's an air bubble in the line rather than permanent skimpy steam. The water line should be longer; it won't reach to the end of my board. The warning light showing that the iron is on is on the back of the iron rather than the side. The heat level indicator is not readily visible as it is a indentation on the black plastic; a dot of red on the plastic would be better. The "control" for shutting off water from the bottle is a piece of plastic junk that doesn't stop the water instead of a screw.
All in all, it's better than a traditional iron, but if it doesn't start producing more steam, I'll replace it. Cheaper wasn't better this time.

so everything burns even the black plastic of the handle is melting..
away with it.. let's buy again a good japanese as hashima or naomoto..
